Crispy, Sweet & Spicy Indo-Chinese Snack
Honey Chilli Potato is one of the most loved Indo-Chinese appetizers – crispy fried potato fingers tossed in a sweet, spicy, and tangy sauce. Whether you're hosting a party or craving a flavorful snack, this recipe is sure to hit the spot.
📝 Ingredients
For Frying Potatoes:

3 medium-sized potatoes (cut into thin fingers)

2 tbsp corn flour

2 tbsp all-purpose flour (maida)

Salt to taste

Water as needed

Oil for deep frying
For Honey Chilli Sauce:

1 tbsp oil

1 tbsp chopped garlic
-
1 tsp chopped ginger
-
1-2 green chillies (slit)
-
1 small onion (sliced, optional)

1 tbsp red chilli sauce
-
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
-
1 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tsp vinegar
-
1.5 tbsp honey
-
1 tsp red chilli flakes
-
Salt to taste

1 tsp sesame seeds (to garnish)

Spring onions or coriander (for garnish)
🍳 Instructions
Step 1: Preparing & Frying Potatoes

Wash, peel, and cut potatoes into thin finger shapes.

Soak in cold water for 10 minutes to remove starch. Drain and pat dry.

In a bowl, mix corn flour, maida, salt, and a little water to make a thick coating batter.

Toss the potato fingers in the batter until evenly coated.

Deep fry in hot oil on medium heat until golden and crispy. Set aside on tissue paper.
Step 2: Making Honey Chilli Sauce

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok or pan.

Add garlic, ginger, and green chillies. Sauté for a minute.

Add sliced onion (if using) and cook until slightly soft.

Stir in red chilli sauce, ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, and salt. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Add 2-3 tbsp water and let the sauce simmer.

Stir in honey and red chilli flakes. Mix well.
Step 3: Tossing the Potatoes

Add fried potato fingers into the sauce.

Toss on high heat for 1-2 minutes until well-coated.

Turn off the heat. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions or coriander.
